Christmas Parade.

Christmas Parade,
Tree Lighting and Reception
Saturday, December 5
5:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Bring your friends, family and neighbors to watch our first Christmas Parade! The parade will begin in the Tom Thumb parking lot at 5:30 p.m. and run down Trophy Club Drive to the Clock Tower. Sit anywhere along the parade route to see the Byron Nelson High School Marching Band and Colorguard, student and community organizations, decorated floats and more. Stick around until the end to see Santa and his motorcycle-riding elves!

If your group would like to participate in the parade, download the Parade Packet* and submit the entry form. There is no fee for community groups to participate.

Follow the parade up to the Clock Tower to join us for the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and Reception. The ceremony will begin shortly after the conclusion of the parade, at approximately 6:30 p.m.

The Medlin Middle School, Beck and Lakeview Elementary School Choirs will delight us with carols, followed by the reading of traditional Christmas stories and the lighting of the Town tree. Stay warm with free hot chocolate and coffee compliments of Starbucks!

Immediately after the ceremony enjoy free desserts and refreshments compliments of the Town, Starbucks and Lake Cities Church of Christ.

There will be crafts for the kids, and don't forget to get a picture with Santa! Pictures are free with a donation of 2 canned/boxed goods or a new, unwrapped toy. Donations will benefit the Community Storehouse.

Don't procrastinate, use the tax credit now.

Start your house search now. Getting an early start will give you a better chance of finding the right house before the credit deadline.

When first-time buyers thought that the credit would expire Nov. 30, people scrambled to find properties in September and October.

Before you start house hunting, get preapproved for a mortgage, and do a realistic assessment of what you can afford.

Buyers who have to sell an existing home should price it aggressively from the beginning to drum up interest and get a buyer as soon as possible.

Don't count on another extension.

It's official.

The President signed the bill that contained the extension of the popular $8,000 credit for first-time home buyers.

The credit will be available through next June as long as you sign a binding contract by the end of April.

The law includes a $6,500 credit for existing homeowners who buy a home after living in their current residence at least five of the last eight years.
